Hello all,
Happy foggy Friday!
We’re in for a top of 16 degrees with a bit of rain later down the track, and you guessed it, lots of clouds.
UPDATE, 4.10pm: Signing off
And with that, I say goodbye. Enjoy your weekend and have fun!
UPDATE, 4pm: Let’s Talk
“If I wasn’t interested in girls, how would my life be? I would still be in my country, I would still be with my mum and my siblings, my dad would still be good to me and I would still move on with my life,” Mariam Nagawa said.
“We got in a relationship and we were just moving with our hearts, we didn’t know anything about LGBTQI+ or what it stood for, I didn’t know what gay was — it was just being with a person.”
In this week’s Let’s Talk column, Mariam graciously shared her journey. Having to leave her country after facing discrimination, she’s made a new life here ‒ but not without challenges.
Make sure to keep an eye on our socials over the weekend to keep up to date with it all! Under the hashtag #MMGSport on Twitter, you won’t miss a thing.
UPDATE, 12.40pm: Molly brought the community together
It’s every pet owners worst nightmare: their little friend goes missing.
Earlier this month, Molly the Maltese shih tzu made a break for it.
She ran off while staying at a family friends’ house, on her path it was said she fled into the woods full of open mineshafts, and over the course of eight days evaded foxes, eagles and every person she encountered.
Over those eight day, Molly unknowingly brought the Rushworth community together.
