Campaspe police are investigating what appears to be a targeted arson attack which took place at a residence in Waratah Grove in Echuca, this week.
The incident took place at around 12.15am on Tuesday, March 1 and was the result of a firebomb.
At the time of the fire, there were four occupants inside their house who all managed to escape unharmed.
Emergency services were contacted to extinguish the fire which resulted in minor damage to the front of the house.
Campaspe police Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham said, “there was no injury to any persons, but they are obviously shaken up as a result of the experience.”
Campaspe police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
“The investigation is ongoing in terms of the identity of the offender(s) and the apparent motive,” said Det Sen Constable Wickham.
“It appears to be a targeted attack as opposed to random but the reason for it is unknown at this point in time.”
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage in the surrounding area for evidence.
