Sportspeople across Australia have been contributing to the bushfire appeal.
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios kicked off the idea at the start of the month, pledging $200 for every ace he hit during his matches this summer.
Players across sporting codes have followed suit with various initiatives to raise money for those affected.
Rochester Cricket Club got involved last weekend, donating $10 for each wicket and $2 for each run to the cause.
Adding up the scores of all three of Rochester’s teams, the club will contribute $1000 to the Bushfire Appeal.
Rochester’s Dylan Cuttriss said it was something they spoke about before and during the game.
“It was an opportunity to give back to others and it added another element to the game,” he said.
Rochester’s teams also wore red armbands as a sign of respect to the firefighters.
