A further $1000 has been donated to Seymour FM as the community radio station struggles to recover from a recent arson attack.
The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society made the generous donation in the wake of the recent radiothon which successfully raised $11,000 thanks to kind-hearted residents and community-minded businesses.
President Jason Ronald said the society was pleased to donate $1000 to assist with the rebuild following the arson attack on the radio station’s infrastructure.
“The radio station had been very supportive of the annual Seymour Show over many years and it was only right and proper that the ag society should come to the station’s aid when it was having difficulties,” Mr Ronald said.
The Seymour Show is held in early October in Kings Park but has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19.
Mr Ronald thanked those who worked at Seymour FM for their past support and expressed his hope the donation would help repair “an integral part of Seymour”.
