The race from Chinaman’s Bridge to Tahbilk Winery saw 30 clubs, 167 crews and 874 athletes competing in one of Australia’s premier distance races.
Nagambie Rowing Club’s Sue Andrews said the event was a success despite the weather.
“Thankfully the wind doesn’t have as much impact when on the river. If it was on the lake, we would have had to call it off,” she said.
“Head of the Goulburn is the only regatta in the world that finishes at a winery and it was good to see a range of ages from school children right through to people in their 70s competing.”
Mrs Andrews said the feedback from competitors and spectators was overwhelmingly positive.
“It keeps getting bigger every year. It’s a challenge for us because we are only a small club and it takes 35 to 40 people to run it, but we love that more people keep turning up every year,” she said.
“We want to thank all the volunteers and especially the CFA for managing the car parking for us.”
