As Murchison continues to face uncertainty with the potential collapse of Murchison Community Care, the town was struck with another blow on Saturday night, when vandals targeting its football and cricket oval.

The ground's turf was ripped from its roots as vandals drove a car onto the oval to do burnouts.
Volunteer groundskeeper Dick Feehan has maintained the oval for the past 20 years and said receiving the call on Sunday morning was a “kick in the guts”.
“This is going to take months to repair,” Mr Feehan said.
“These scars are going to be here for quite a while.
“Our town has been having a bit of a rough time lately, but on Saturdays people come down here to watch the cricket to support each other and have some fun.”
Vandals targeted the north and south ends of the field, but fortunately only the outskirts of the cricket pitch was damaged.
“Murchison Cricket Club play away for the next two weeks, so we have a little bit of time to recover this mess,” Mr Feehan said.
With the Murchison community out in force looking for the culprit, Mr Feehan called on the vandals to come forward and hand themselves in.
“It's just cruel,” Mr Feehan said.
“I put so much time and effort in down here to make this try to look like the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
