If you wanted to have a good time, the place to be on Saturday was the Aquamoves outdoor pool.

That was because the Shepparton Swimming Club was putting on a party disguised as a swim meet — an institution better known as the Aqua Carnivale.
About 250 eager beavers took to the pond for the big day, with nearly 50 of those coming from the local organisation.
SSC president Phil Guthrie said it had been a fabulous fiesta.
“Unapologetically, we put on a good time,” Guthrie said.
“We just want to help make a great day out and build some happy memories. That's what the day is all about, having lots of fun and swimming well.
“All the other activities are very well supported and my favourite comment from one parent was them mentioning no kids were sitting around having fun, they were bouncing around, kicking a footy, playing with a basketball and really getting into the spirit of things.”
If there were any problems, el Presidente said, the surging popularity of the event meant it was a marathon day for all involved — the best type of problem to have.
Guthrie said the Aquamoves pool had been in fantastic condition, something that would have required a huge effort from maintenance staff to make possible.
He said the club's next major focus was the Victorian Championships next month for a handful of swimmers, with the Country Championships in January to follow soon after.
