Having pulled off an impressive last-ball win against Kyabram last weekend, the Bombers would be keen show they can reproduce that form on the regular by seeing off winless Tatura.
While it has been a tough season for the Bombers with three wins from nine games, they have clearly taken a big step forward from last campaign where they were victorious just once.
“Just looking at last season where we won one game, we've won three now and maybe we can pinch one or two of our last three,” captain Brayden Carey said.
“We just want to finish the season on a positive note, finishing eighth or ninth maybe would be a really good result.”
The Bombers are currently ninth on the table and have been led by an outstanding campaign from Jordan Cleeland (324 runs at 46.3 and 10 wicket), while Mitch Cleeland will also be crucial in taking down the Bulldogs having taken 16 wickets at 20.5.
Two games out of the top six, the Bombers would likely need to win all three of their remaining games — against Tatura, Central Park-St Brendan's and Shepparton United — and pray other results went their way to make finals, but the skipper said his side would fight until the end.
“You never know and it's just about building momentum for next season, we don't really have any plans greater than that,” Carey said.
“We back ourselves in on our home deck with our bowlers.”
For Tatura, the weekend's clash appears its best chance to not go the season without a win, with matches against Mooroopna and Numurkah to come to close the campaign.
It did show some encouraging signs against Euroa, batting out its 45 overs in making 8-185 with David Miller making 43 runs opening the batting.
