As Cricket Shepparton B-grade action rolled into round 11 - signalling the return of red-ball cricket - Martin produced one of the bowling spells of the Clyde Young Shield summer.
With his Blues hosting Old Students, Martin ripped the heart out of the visiting batting order to snare a hat-trick and finish with figures of 4-5 from eight overs - sending down six maidens in the process.
Martin's triple treat came with the first three wickets of the innings before snaring a fourth shortly afterwards to see the Students crumble from 0-24 to 5-32.
The batting line-up never recovered, all-out for 78 in the 49th over as Sam Spicer (3-19) and Reydan Lacuin (3-28) also chimed in with solid hauls.
The Blues were 7-144 when stumps were called with Kody Jackson's 39 the top score.
Tom Janke (2-23) and Jamie Carr (2-28) impressed with the ball for the Students.
● Ryan Kearney dominated for Pine Lodge at the weekend, snaring 6-43 against Katandra.
The Eagles still managed to reach 156 all-out in the 73rd over thanks to the likes of Mitch Black (32 from 117 deliveries) and Clayton Simpson (28 from 105), but Kearney's efforts have the Lodgers firmly ahead in the game.
Hayden Cann and Travis Waters will resume their side's innings on 1-17 next week.
● Luke Sibley had a day to remember for Karramomus at Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve.
With wickets falling regularly throughout the Bloods’ innings, number eight Sibley came to the crease with his side floundering at 6-42.
But that did not worry him, hitting eight boundaries - including a maximum - in a knock of 71 to steer his team to 129 all-out.
Northerners were then in complete control at 3-93 in reply - thanks to B Caia (47) and S Dawes (37) - before Sibley again put his stamp on the contest.
The Jets lost 4-0 before finishing the day on 7-100, with Sibley snaring 3-7 from eight overs, including six maidens.
Brett Sheriff had earlier impressed for the Jets with 5-28 from his 15 overs.
● Mooroopna took first-innings points against Kyabram, but the match will likely see an outright result after 19 wickets fell on day one.
Reilly Young claimed 6-22 for the Cats to help dismiss the Redbacks for just 99 alongside Josh Preston (3-39), with Jason Parsons (30 from 16) and Connor Hawes (26) doing the bulk of the scoring for the home side at Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
Mooroopna then managed to reach 9-115 at stumps, with Kyabram's Kanwal Singh (3-20), Hawes (3-28) and Jonathan Hipwell (2-36) giving the outfit a sniff of a reverse result.
● Waaia reached 203 all-out at a quick pace against Tatura at Howley Oval.
The Bombers were all back in the sheds in less than 46 overs, giving the home side plenty of bowling to navigate before stumps.
Louis Worm (53 not out) and Rohan Forster (30) put on 75 for the first wicket before some late breakthroughs had Tatura 3-101 at the halfway point of the clash.
Justin Connors finished with figures of 3-28 for Tatura earlier in the day.
● Euroa made it to 169 before losing all of its wickets at Deakin Reserve.
Central Park-St Brendan's kept a tight rein on the Magpies all day, with Cameron McGregor (4-28), Mason Reeves (2-22) and Jimmy Boyer (2-39) leading the way.
Nick Burke (42), Matt Lawrence (39) and Travis Stefanos (32) wielded the willow well for the visitors, with Euroa getting to the final over of the day in its innings.
