Now in its fifth year, the action-packed day of cricket welcomes people with a disability from across the Goulburn Valley to partake in scoring runs, taking wickets and most importantly, having fun.
The event will again be organised by multiple community groups including Shepparton United Cricket Club, ConnectGV and Cricket Victoria to name a few.
Shepparton United Cricket Club vice-president Tony Giblin said the club always looked forward to hosting and being involved in the Harmony Cup.
“Our club is very proud to be involved in what will be the fifth instalment of the GV Harmony Cup,” Giblin said.
“The club is always looking to try and give back to the community anyway we can.
“It's shaping up to be another fantastic day and we can't wait.”
Sides from across the Goulburn Valley such as Numurkah and Cobram will battle it out in modified cricket matches, with the top two ranked sides at the end of the day to contest the Harmony Cup.
There will also be a refugee clinic to introduce newly settled community members to the game of cricket.
“We will be running a clinic to help refugees get introduced into cricket and help them integrate into the community,” Giblin said.
“There will be a lunch provided and the Shepparton South Rotary Club is going to be putting on a feed for everyone.
“And Westpac Bank will be there handing out giveaways, it should be a lot of fun.”
With the All Abilities GV Harmony Cup just less than a week away, Giblin said people could still get involved as a team or as an individual.
“Anyone interested can contact my number, we'd be more than happy to see as many people there as possible,” he said.
The GV Harmony Cup will start at 9.30 am.
