The world champion driver was in her element yesterday morning, taking Kausin Glamour to a record-breaking victory under-14 girls expert victory in record time.
The first woman to drive in Superclass, Pearse was excited to get behind the wheel to help some up-and-coming skiers.
“It was really good,” she said.
“Towing the young ones was a lot of fun, they both skied really well. I was really impressed with the way they performed.”
As one of the more experienced drivers on hand, Pearse was happy to give her insights on how the conditions had impacted her team in their run.
“It's not a record breaking course,” she said.
“The water was pretty rough at times, it was windy and we had patches of rain as well. We had to back off at stages due to visibility issues.
“But there was a clear run for us, we didn't catch anybody, we didn't pass anyone, so the session was really well seeded.”
With her ability to analyse the event, combined with her reputation throughout the sport as one of its best drivers, it was little wonder Pearse was called on to deliver analysis on Saturday afternoon as a member of the commentary team for the first Southern 80 live stream.
Pearse said she had quite enjoyed the opportunity.
“I loved the commentary,” she said.
“It's great to watch the teams through the early stages of the race and be able to provide my knowledge as to how people handle the course and what the race is providing. It was a lot of fun.”
