The popular game of scrounge showcased an excellent brand of bowlers on Wednesday.
Six rinks were in operation, which resulted in some pretty tight competition as a couple of left handers provided strong opposition.
On rink one Graham Turner carried off the trophy scoring 46 points, with Max Clifford next best on 37.
An Elmore visitor, Wes Bertuch, crafted his way to 44 points and a win on rink two ahead of Ian Johnson on 40 points.
Two old Lockington schoolboys shared the honours on rink three, as Greg Clymo and Jim Harris could not be separated on 39 points apiece.
Leading left hander Frank Chugg got the chocolates on rink four after managing an amazing 70 points, with Andrew Harris next best on 38.
Another runaway victor was the consistent Annie Haines compiling a brilliant 55 points for a win on rink five from Don Smith, who came home with 36.
The final rink produced some interesting bowls as Jill Young returned to the winners’ circle after tallying 46 points while Lorraine Appleby recorded a sound 33 points along with Ann Lowrie on 33.
The game of scrounge is played each Wednesday (weather permitting), starting at 1pm.
All bowlers and non-bowlers are welcome.
