The seven-race event, including the feature $25,000 Cup in race six, is expected to be one of the better days of country racing for the season.
And according to club president Mick Farrant, it will be one of the most attended as well.
“We've seen our bookings sky rocket in the past few days,” he said.
“At the end of last week we had close to the same booking numbers as we had for 2018, which were the best booking numbers we had on record. They've gone through the roof this week.
“We already have close to 10 buses scheduled to make the trip up from Echuca, and there are four or five expected to come from the Cohuna direction as well.
“We had a meeting on Wednesday night and decided we would have to put a few extra staff on in order to cater to the numbers we were going to have through the gates.”
The cup will have its fair share of local flavour, with a number of horses trained in the region to appear.
Echuca trainers will be well represented. Two horses from the Cornish/Gaskin stables, one trained by Gwenda Johnstone, three Daryl Archard runners, one from Rhys Archard and one trained by Jim Lake will appear across the race card.
All patrons will be required to bring cash for the day, as an issue has resulted in no eftpos facilities and no ATMs being at the course.
However, Farrant expects the day to be one to remember for patrons.
“I think what people will enjoy the most is the atmosphere,” he said.
“There is something for everyone at the event. We have everything from families and the quieter groups, to football and netball trips and bucks parties, that kind of thing.
“There are umbrella packages everywhere, the lawns are going to be full, so everyone who is attending the event is going to be able to have a great time.”
