Come and give Little Athletics a go

ECHUCA-MOAMA Little Athletics is calling on local kids to come and give the sport a go at the club’s Come and Try day on October 12.

Children aged between 5 (as of December 31 2019) and 15 are invited to Jack Eddy Oval in Moama at 8.45am to participate in a session lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Athletes are set to compete in two field and two track events to give them a taste of what the season ahead may look like.

The club will provide each athlete with their own scorecard on the day so they can track their progress which can then be taken home.

Parents will be able to register their child on the day with computers provided by the club, and those wishing to do so are asked to bring along a birth certificate.

There is an option to register athletes prior to the day at www.lavic.com.au.

If participants aren’t prepared to fully commit following the come and try day, the club will allow children to continue for the first two weeks of the season at no cost.

Children are asked to bring running shoes, a hat, sunscreen and water.

The official season will begin on October 19.
