The club has appointed Belinda Lees as its new head coach, with Stephanie Vick to take charge of the A grade side.
Lees’ role will see her oversee the entire club's netball program, including mentoring coaches and strengthening cohesion throughout all grades of play.
Less expressed her excitement at the appointment.
“I'm nervous, but I'm also really looking forward to the opportunity,” she said.
“This is a fantastic netball club, and I cannot wait to take up the role for this season and hopefully make a contribution to the continued success of the club going forward.”
Echuca's netballers had a strong 2019 season clubwide, with every grade making the finals and B grade playing off for the premiership.
Lees said the priority was further building on the club's success.
“We've got a great group and a great culture, and that really showed last season with our on court success,” she said.
“The goal from here is to further develop that culture, to show why this is a place people want to be. We will look at the development of our juniors and how we can make them even better players.
“As a coaching team, we will look at what we can improve and find ways to keep this team at the top of the GVL, as well as find ways to go even further this year.”
Vick said a love of coaching had motivated her to take on the role.
“I'm really excited to be taking on the position,” she said.
“I've always been someone who enjoys coaching, so getting the opportunity to coach at this level for a great club is an honour, and something I am really looking forward.”
Vick said that while the side fell just short of a grand final in 2019, she believes they were well and truly on the right track.
“We didn't come away with the success we were looking for, which is unfortunate,” she said.
“But we believe we are on the right path towards the success we are hunting for. Nothing major has to be changed for us to deliver this year, it will be a case of making small changes and getting those things right so we are able to make the next step.”
Gina Pearson, who took the side to an A grade flag in 2018 and a preliminary final in 2019, will remain coach of the under 17s in 2020.
