More than $2000 was raised for the McGrath Foundation on Saturday as the club took part in the event.
Grace Jones said a conversation with fellow organizer Imogen McKenzie lead to the day taking place.
“We'd had discussions about holding a ladies day for the club,” she said.
“Not long after that we saw some information about pink stumps day. We all know about the incredible work the McGrath Foundation does, so we saw it as a fantastic opportunity to raise some money for an important cause.
“We contacted the McGrath Foundation who set us up with the pink stumps, and gave us some ideas on how we could fund raise.”
The group sold 62 tickets - each including entry, drinks and a special edition t shirt for the event - which provided the bulk of the fundraising.
The tin shed at Leitchville was decorated with as much pink as could be found as the crowd poured in to the ground to help with the fund raising effort.
On the field, it was not the perfect day for the club, suffering a 35-run loss to Nondescripts despite a strong 40 from Mitchell McEwan, but the result was quickly forgotten by the players.
At the conclusion of the match both sides signed a bat, which was then auctioned for $400.
A raffle run on the day would also raise a further $300.
Jones said she was blown away by the response to the event.
“It was unbelievable to see how much people wanted to help out,” she said.
“The support, be it from businesses who donated to the raffle, or from people around our towns who wanted to be a part of the cause, it was incredible.
“We honestly can't thank people enough for being a part of the day and for donating to the event.”
Following the success of 2019, already attention is being put towards a 2020 event.
“A few people mentioned afterwards that they would like to see this again next year,” she said.
“We'd love to see this become a regular event for the club going forward. We've started our discussions for next year, and we look forward to seeing what it brings.”
