When the Goulburn Murray Cricket women's A grade competition resumes on Sunday afternoon, Echuca will look to maintain their status at the team to beat.
The reigning premier sits six points clear of Leitchville-Gunbower and appear to be Echuca's likely grand final opponents with Shepparton United and Kyabram Fire Brigade a long way back.
But coach Jon Varcoe said his side can't afford to get too far ahead of themselves.
“We've still got a lot of hard work to do if we want to be successful,” Varcoe said.
“After a few weeks off it's important we find our form as quickly as possible because we don't want to be caught out.
“The girls have been really keen to get back out on the ground since we came back to training last week and we're looking forward to the game on Sunday.”
Echuca will make the trip to Princess Park to face Shepparton United on Sunday, and will enter the game as strong favourites.
Although Varcoe said he players won't be taking anything for granted.
“Shepparton have got some quality players who have improved with every game they've played,” he said.
“I think they've got a great balance between there more experienced and younger players which makes them a strong side.
“We're going to need to make sure our intensity is up in the field and we continue to bowl at the stumps.
“And hopefully with the bat we can build some strong partnerships during our innings.
“We will need to bring our best if we want to win the game.”
Play will get underway at 12pm.
