On Sunday, Echuca returned to action in devastating fashion as it swept aside last placed Shepparton United by 42 runs.
After being sent into bat by the home side, a Danielle Garden (34 not out retired) led Echuca stormed to 5/111 from their 20 overs.
“Danielle picked up from where she left off prior to the break,” Echuca coach Jon Varcoe said.
“She's been in some terrific form this season and I thought her shot selection on Sunday was excellent.
“During the second half of the innings, she was a pleasure to watch. I thought our score was a good one considering the ground was much slower compared to when we played there earlier in the season.”
United's chase never got going as opening bowlers Bree Gaylor and Delaney Laffy claimed wickets in consecutive overs.
Their wickets sparked a dramatic collapse as United suddenly lost 5/6.
And it allowed Grace Moyle and Jodie Jones to make their mark on the game, with two scalps each as United reached 9/69 from their 20 overs.
“Bree and Delaney got us off to the perfect start and really set the tone for our bowling performance,” Varcoe said.
“When your change bowlers are able to build on what your openers have delivered it gives you a lot of confidence as a coach.
“For Grace and Jodie to take 4/11 from six overs between them is a demonstration of the depth of skilled bowlers we have in our group.”
Echuca will play just two more games before finals against Leitchville-Gunbower and Kyabram Fire Brigade on February 2 and 9 respectively.
