In a statement on their Facebook page on Sunday, PDFNL club Mathoura confirmed league officials and club presidents would meet to discuss the competition’s proposed start date.
“Clubs still have a lot of concerns about how viable a modified season would be this year,” the post said.
“We will have more information and direction after this meeting. We would like to thank all of our players, parents and supporters for their patience in these very trying times.”
Local rivals Picola United also provided an update to its own supporters on its Facebook page.
“No doubt many will have read today (Sunday) that there is a planned return to football and netball announced by the state governments,” the club said.
“There are still many unanswered questioned that the committee needs answered before considering this to be an option for PUFNC.
“In the interim we will continue to suspend all sanctioned training this week at the club.
“However, if there is a possibility the league goes ahead with a season, in order for the committee to make our own decision, we will also need to understand the individual situations and potential availability all of our players football and netball, junior and senior.
“We will endeavour to get a survey to our playing group this week.”
Earlier this month, the PDFNL announced it was targeting a return to play on July 11.
That date now seems redundant with Victorian clubs not allowed to return to full contact training until July 18, before action can start a week later.
Meanwhile, all community competitions in NSW are able to start from July 1.
