Lockington Bamawm United v White Hills

Round 18, 2016 at Nichol Trading Oval, Lockington

White Hills 14.11 (95) def. LBU 14.9 (93)

Season 2016 was a year to forget for the Cats, as they won just a single game for the season.

But it was so close to becoming two in the final game of the season, off the back of a spirited performance from Zeik Johnston, who booted seven majors.

Throughout the game, the two sides could barely be separated, including a thrilling final term with five goals at either end.

‘‘It almost came off,’’ Cats coach Pete Gibbs said.

‘‘The lead changed a couple of times in the last quarter but credit where due as White Hills ran the ball well out of their back half.’’

Leitchville-Gunbower v Colbinabbin

Round 2, 2014, MJ Morgan Reserve, Colbinabbin

Colbinabbin 13.7.85 lt. L-G 14.16.100

The 2014 year was another step forward for Leitchville-Gunbower, who would be a regular grand finalist by next year.

A good victory against the Hoppers early in the season put the Bombers on the right path for the year, moving the team to 2-0.

Bart Walsh, Jake Williams and Troy Parker all got in on the act in front of goals, kicking three majors each, with Williams named the best player for his side.

With 27 goals kicked across the day, it was a high-scoring clash, with the Bombers securing a 15-point win.

The team would end the year with 10 wins, finishing third on the ladder.
