Men’s golf was back on the east course and looking fantastic after a power of work had been done upgrading the irrigation system.
Well done to everyone involved and best of luck with the rest of it.
Par was the competition for the day and the two grades needed countbacks to separate the three outstanding scores in each.
Bruce, Jock and Alex all had +3 in A grade, whilst the B grade boys in Bruce, Gordon and Bill went one better with 4.
A total of 87 golfers played -1 on a countback, winning a voucher.
A grade: 1st: Bruce Pollock ( 3 c/b), 2nd: Jock Watson ( 3 C/B), 3rd: Alex Stevens ( 3).
B grade: 1st: Bruce Fleming ( 4 c/b), 2nd: Gordon Jasch ( 4 c/b), 3rd: Bill Holmfield ( 4).
Thursday, August 6David O’Dea set the standards of excellence by having a hole-in-one on the 8th and achieving every golfers dream.
Peter Rinaldi also had a day out registering 41 points in B grade to shade the in-form Bill Holmfield.
A Grade was owned by the solid play of David Cockroft who pipped Craig Opie OAM and Greg Norwood.
A total of 93 played the east course with 34 points on a countback, winning a voucher.
A grade: 1st: David Cockroft (38), 2nd: Craig Opie (37 c/b), 3rd: Greg Norwood (37).
B grade: 1st: Peter Rinaldi (41), 2nd: Bill Holmfield (39), 3rd: Graham Wood (38 c/b).
Hole-in-one: 8th - David O’Dea.
Saturday August 8
With Jason Day performing well in round 2 of the PGA Championship, coupled with the slightest of drizzles falling across the course, only 61 valiant golfers played the east, with 36 points winning a voucher.
Steven Levy had an eagle on the 11th, whereas Brian Harland and Rodney Blackwell played superbly to have 41 and 40 points respectively.
Overall winners: 1st: Brian Harland (41), 2nd: Rodney Blackwell (40), 3rd: Glenn Albert (39).

Ladies
Monday, August 10
A nine-hole stroke competition on the west course was held on Monday.
The rundown went to 39 points, there were 12 entrants.
Overall winners
1st: Pat Sanders (34).
2nd: Fran Murphy (38).
3rd: Gill Crawford (39 c/b).
Wednesday, August 12
A total of 40 ladies competed in a stableford competition on the west course as the run down went to 32.
Joyce Moresi topped the field with a lovely 41 points.

Lockington
Last Wednesday, the ladies played a stroke round in cold and wintery conditions.
Pauline Humbert was best on course with 104-27-77 to win the Giddings Co player of the day voucher, plus A grade honours, ahead of Annette Brereton.
Phyll Macfarlane won B grade with her round of 113-35-78, with Jan Clymo runner-up.
Count the putts: A grade - Sue Harris 28; B grade - Phyll Macfarlane 30.
Competition golf ceased as of last Thursday, in line with the directions provided by Golf Australia, as a result of the introduction of stage 3 restrictions in regional Victoria.
