Last Thursday, the club had a visit from seven Moama Anglican Grammar School students and their teacher Greg Cadd, and on Tuesday this week another seven students visited with teacher Bri Bennett.
These school groups have been an absolute pleasure to have at the club and most of them take to the sport like ducks to water.
Club members are enjoying the opportunity of introducing them to the game and also enjoying their happy smiles on the courts.
After the student visit on last Thursday 14 members played golf croquet doubles. There were two three-game winners.
First place went to newcomer Jill Kenley who has only played a couple of times before. She had a nett hoop score of +11.
James Gunn was in second spot with 9.
On Tuesday, 11 members and three visitors played golf croquet singles, with three players winning all three of their games.
Maree Maher was in first place with a nett hoop score of 8, James Gunn was second with 7 and Ian Grant was in third spot with 6.
The courts must be running well as four players scored hoops in one.
Well done to Alan Holding, James Gunn, Ian Grant and Dave Maher.
The club thanks Echuca Moama Croquet Club for hosting five of the Echuca-based Rich River members who are unable to cross the border into NSW.
Members are reminded that the courts will be closed for annual maintenance from September 9 to 12.
