Although the youthful Eagles never went away throughout the contest, Tongala was able to keep them at arm's length when it mattered, scoring victory 45-40 at the final siren.
The Blues have managed to stabilise in recent weeks, having slipped down the table early in the year due to key player absences.

Tonny (7-7) is now only half-a-game from the finals places, with Moama and Numurkah sitting two points above the Blues.
