Shepparton East has shown no sign of slowing down from its 2025 premiership, being the only unbeaten side in the competition, and expected to improve to 7-0 against 12th-placed Longwood this weekend.
Undera is below the Redlegs on the ladder, the winless Lions having had a rough first half of the season.
Amy Reid’s team has another huge challenge this weekend in its quest to register a first victory, hosting second-placed Nagambie at Undera Recreation Reserve.
The Lakers are only behind Shepparton East on percentage, which is the same as third-placed Rushworth, which is seemingly levelling up from a strong 2025.
Sheree Starling’s side has an average winning margin of about 28 goals this year, though sixth-placed Tallygaroopna should provide a test at Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve.
Merrigum is on the same points as Tally but in seventh, the Bulldogs’ pre-season goal of making the finals within reach.
Blynda Tranter’s side has another week off in round nine, before it finally returns to action against Longwood on June 20.
Behind Merrigum in eighth is Avenel, which hosts local side Girgarre at Avenel Recreation Reserve, the Kangaroos directly below the Swans in ninth.
Girgarre has a 2-5 record from its seven matches, experiencing a drop-off after reaching the grand final last year.
The other two sides at 2-5 are Murchison-Toolamba and Stanhope, sitting 10th and 11th, respectively, and facing each other this weekend at Murchison Recreation Reserve in another clash between teams next to each other on the ladder.
That will also be the case when fourth-placed Lancaster hosts fifth-placed Violet Town in arguably the game of the round, the two finals contenders duelling at Lancaster Recreation Reserve.
Lancaster returns to action with a huge home clash against Violet Town this weekend.
Each Kyabram District Netball League round nine match will begin at 2.15pm on Saturday.
