Western Riverina District Golf Association Winter Pennant
Deniliquin hosted the finals last Sunday with Rich River winning the division three title while division one and two fell agonisingly short.
The division three side of Keith and Sue Jenkinson, Colleen Lynch, Josie Kirkman and Jan McGuinness dominated from start to finish, winning four matches to one over Murray Downs.
The division two team of Kevin Saillard, Craig Griffin, Jaxson McMinn, John King, and Wade Jeffreys put up a bold showing against Deniliquin on their home track, losing three matches to two, with the last match being decided on the first extra hole.
Matt Jean’s division one scratch team of Paddy Hannon, Troy Kenny, Aaron Loader, and D’Arcy Whyte lost three matches to two against Murray Downs who were the best side all year. A great result for the first year of singles winter pennant with each of the three clubs competing on the day winning a division.
