With a new top-eight system and with the premiership race wide open, the excitement is palpable ahead of the two elimination finals.
In the first elimination final, premiership fancy Shepparton East is scheduled to come up against feel-good story Girgarre.
East missed out on a top four spot due to percentage and most pundits would have them odds-on favourites to win Saturday's clash, which is scheduled to be held at Longwood.
The Roos on the other hand are being spurred on by 21 years of finals agony and have reached the post-season for the first time since 2001.
Girgarre playing coach Damian Cupido, fresh off reaching 100 goals last week, said his charges would keep the focus solely on them.
“For us now all we can do is focus on what we can control, and that is the way we train and how we apply ourselves,” Cupido said.
“Obviously there is a big carrot at the end of this and it is right in front of us, where you finish on the ladder is now irrelevant, it is all about how you perform on the day and we will try and it make it as level a playing field as possible.
“We believe we have the tools to be successful and that is what we will be striving for throughout the week, we’ll look to take risks and throw caution into the wind to win a final this Saturday.”
