Both teams were even keeled to begin their round 16 match-up, with the attacking tandem of player coach Belinda Lees and Holly Chadwick proving as deadly as ever.
Echuca was able to get a leg up early and led Seymour 13 goals to 10 at quarter-time.
The Murray Bombers tend to score in bunches, which remained true in the second period, with Echuca having two separate two-minute sections where it scored four goals.
While Echuca led by seven at the half-time siren, the Lions remained within striking distance with two quarters still to play.

Seymour had its most productive period of the game in the third term with the Lions putting up 11 goals, but this wouldn't be enough against an electric Echuca attack who combined for 13 goals, extending its lead to nine with a quarter to play.
Echuca goal shooter Holly Chadwick had a huge final quarter, bagging seven of her side’s 10 fourth-quarter goals.
The Lions also put up 10 goals in the final frame but were unable to climb out of the nine-goal hole they had dug themselves, the final score was Seymour 40 to Echuca 49.
Echuca will face ninth-placed Rochester next week, where it will look to extend its win streak and leapfrog second-placed Euroa.
The Murray Bombers will then have a bye in round 17 before finishing their regular season against seventh-placed Shepparton Swans.
