The Bombers, finishing the home-and-away campaign in third, were clinical from start to finish as the Timbercutters ended 2022 in 12th, with four wins and 12 losses to their name after 18 rounds, with two byes included in the final tally.
Mathoura’s most recent win came in round 11 with a six-goal triumph over Jerilderie, with a two-goal win over Deni Rovers and a pair of forfeitures from Yarroweyah and Berrigan the Timbercutters’ other points for the season.
It brings an end to a tumultuous year for Mathoura, with a shorter pre-season amid the club’s early-season struggles exacerbating a slow start to the year.
Around the league, Katamatite stole fourth spot and the double chance with a six-goal win over Jerilderie, while league-leader Strathmerton enjoyed a 40-32 win over Katandra.
