Junior riders made the most of Saturday’s near perfect conditions, before the seniors race was shortened to four laps on Sunday morning due to safety concerns raised by torrential rain.
Despite a shortened senior race, Sam Davie showcased his talents with a 12th place finish, after starting the race from 27th.
‘‘I’m pleased with the result after a poor qualifying period,’’ he said.
‘‘The conditions made the race extremely difficult but I wish it could have gone on for a bit longer.
‘‘I was getting stronger as the race progressed.
‘‘Even when I passed the finish line, I was managing to pass other riders.
‘‘Anything could have been possible if we raced the full eight laps.’’
In the junior section, Jagger Senior was the best performed rider from the region, finishing 34th in the 85cc two-stroke and 150cc four-stroke 9 to under 12 small wheel category.
Senior’s performance also saw him finish in 61st overall.
Elsewhere, Jai Cornwalls and Jake Clancy finished 40th and 45th overall in the 85cc two-stroke and 150cc four-stroke 12 to under 16 big wheel division.
Kade Stratton was also a strong performer after finishing 44th in the 100-150cc two-stroke 13 to under 16 category.
As part of the event Highside Motorcycles helped support the 13 locals, with manager Dave Kellett saying he was pleased to see everyone enjoy themselves.
‘‘Sunday’s conditions was something I’ve never seen at Hattah,’’ he said.
‘‘It was pleasing to see guys finish the race given dust is normally their biggest challenge.
‘‘We’re already looking forward to people wanting to compete again next year.’’
