Just when everyone was getting back into routine, the COVID pandemic has created another hiccup for the ClubMulwala Snooker Club.
Whilst so many people are having their lives disrupted and indeed our issues are miniscule, but we look do forward to returning to a sense of normalcy when it becomes safe to do so.
Daryl McKernan was running into career form leading into the second COVID recess with a personal best break of 29 and progress through to the final of the Bruce Johnstone Memorial, where he will play the winner of a semi-final between Deb Harbrow and Jason Bassett.
No idea when these matches will be played but will be interesting to see if Daryl can retain his form until then.
Hans Lang took out the Diggers Challenge on July 13 for his second consecutive Monday night victory and Jake Thompson demonstrated his talent with a win in Wednesday night social play on July 15, despite giving substantial starts to his opponents in every match.
As people can see on the Club Mulwala website and in its members newsletter, the club welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try.
There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try the facilities out.
The club have two excellently maintained full size tables available for competition, practice and visitor use, and a regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally.
There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
The Snooker club is unable to play at present but when the NSW border crossing restrictions are lifted please contact the club on either 0497 062443 or 0418 361779 or visit on a Monday or Wednesday evening by 7PM if you would like to give snooker a try.
