The club has appointed Dylan Friedberger to take over from playing coach Danny Brewster.
Brewster, who has guided the side for the past three seasons, has been unable to be a regular fixture at training due to work commitments, causing the change at the top.
"Danny has been a fantastic servant for the club," president David Trewick said.
"He's been a great coach for this group over his time here, and we really appreciate everything he's done. With a change in work however he hasn't been able to be around the club as much as he would like, so the decision was made to have a change in coaching.
"We love what Danny has brought to the club, and we hope to see him remain with Elmore as a player going forward."
Friedberger has experience with one of Elmore's opposition clubs in lower grades, having played junior football with Leitchville Gunbower, as well as captaining HDFNL interleague sides as a junior.
He was named best on ground in the Bombers' 2012 under 17 premiership win.
After spending time with Echuca, he would join Cohuna, being appointed vice captain and winning the club best and fairest, before crossing to Wakool as an assistant coach in 2017, though he would return to Cohuna after eight games.
After some ankle issues in previous seasons, Friedberger began to seriously pursue an interest in coaching.
"I am really looking forward to this new venture with a great club and a ripper set of players," he said of his appointment.
Trewick said the club has high hopes for their future.
"We believe Dylan will be a coach who leads by example on the field," he said.
"He's a talented player, a fantastic leader, and someone we expect will be able to have a real influence on our playing group.
"We have a good mix of young kids, recruits, and players who have been around the club for a long time, and majority of the list have recommitted, we are really looking forward to Dylan taking leadership of the group and seeing what we can do in 2020."
