The duo join chair Dean Oberin who will continue to lead the organisation.
“We are very excited to welcome Cath and Cameron into leadership roles on the board,” Mr Oberin said.
“Both bring with them a wealth of experience in their particular fields and are enthusiastic about consolidating the work C4EM has done to date and helping the community recover from the devastating floods and pandemic. They are both passionate about their community and I can’t wait to work with them.”
Dr Lees is the director of integrated projects and partnerships at Murray Primary Health Network, where she works within the strategy and performance team to improve the primary healthcare services available to rural and regional communities.
She is adjunct professor of rural health at La Trobe University and has previously worked as a senior leader at Echuca Regional Health supporting workforce development and training.
“I am delighted to take on a leadership role at C4EM and support the board to strengthen our partnerships and opportunities to benefit our local communities and business across the health, education and community sector,” she said.
Mr Laird has more than 10 years’ accounting experience across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing and transport.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Dean and Cath and the rest of the board in helping deliver positive outcomes for the community,” he said.
“Echuca-Moama is such a vibrant area and I know that C4EM is helping drive sustainable, responsible and dynamic development and outcomes for the region.”
The board also welcomes three new members: Scott Spedding, Tim Ford and Anne Marie Cairns.
Mr Spedding is Coolabah Turf general manager, Mr Ford is Foodmach’s business improvement manager and Ms Cairns is principal of St Joseph’s College.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing board member Tod Collins for the years of dedication and commitment and welcome the new-look board,” Mr Oberin said.
“It is an exciting time for C4EM and with the new board members I know we can continue to build on delivering better outcomes for the community and develop new projects.”
