Moama will have an opportunity to atone for last season’s division one grand final defeat after accounting for Mathoura in the preliminary final at Echuca Bowling Club.

The Steamers won all rinks at the weekend en route to a 65 to 45-shot victory over the Timbercutters, booking a grand final date against Rochester.
Marilyn Stephenson’s rink was the decisive factor in the clash, winning 26-16 over Mark Quor.

Cameron Keenan (21-14) and Olivia Cartwright (18-17) rounded out another strong performance from Moama, which has won successive finals clashes after accounting for reigning premier Echuca last week.
Now, Moama will have its chance for redemption after a last-bowl defeat in the 2022 grand final.

Rochester earned straight qualification for the decider after overcoming Mathoura in the semi-final, with the Timbercutters bowing out in straight sets.
In division two, Echuca earned another crack at reigning premier Moama after claiming a 12-shot win over Deniliquin RSL.

Wilma Curnow’s 29-13 win helped Echuca over the line despite RSL getting a rink up through Jenny Tonta (27-21).
Kristy Gillingham’s two-shot victory rounded off a strong performance, with Echuca now looking to atone for its nine-shot defeat to the Steamers in the semi-final.
The Steamers are aiming for back-to-back flags and they won’t be alone in the running to bring pennants back to Moama.

Moama’s division three side will also be looking to earn back-to-back titles, joining divisions one and two in the grand final hunt.
Moama will face Deniliquin in the grand final after Deni blitzed Echuca in the preliminary final.

Lee Pattinson’s rink was decisive for Deni, winning 31-5, and while Echuca’s Bernadette Johns earned a 23-13 win in reply, it wasn’t enough to prevent Deni from running away with a 44-28 victory.
