Epicentre Op Shop manager Evie Cummins had a few recommendations for anyone looking to donate items.
“The best way to decide what should or shouldn’t be donated is to ask yourself, ‘Would I give this to a friend?’ If the answer is a no, then most likely it’s not suitable for donation,” she said.
Ms Cummins spoke about the best time to donate items to the store.
“We are thankful for the many people in our community who are doing the right thing and dropping off donations during business hours,” she said.
Recently the donation bins on High St had used items left in the rain, resulting in volunteers needing to safely dispose of the items no longer suitable for donation.
“Every night donations that are dumped in front of our shop are rummaged through and either taken or left strewn all over the ground, leaving the staff to clean up the soiled clothing, broken crockery and glass,” Ms Cummins said.
Disappointing: The donated items left ruined by recent rain.
