Echuca Moama Rockets continue to mix it with partner clubs in the region, this time out at Moama Recreation Reserve.
After taking training with Echuca United earlier this season, the Rockets continued a nearly 10-year association with the Moama Junior Football Club on Wednesday night.
The two clubs came together for an annual training session and pie night as the Magpies’ under-14 team buddied up with their junior Rockets counterparts for a kick of the football.
“Once again it was a great night over there with the Moama crew,” Junior Rockets coach Mark McGann said.
“They always welcome us and it’s great to be involved with another club.”
Roughly 35 players from the two clubs carried out drills and took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their buddies.
The night provides a chance for players from the all-abilities junior Rockets and the Moama youngsters to mingle and “educate” according to McGann.
“We’ve probably been involved for nearly 10 years off and on,” he said.
“Obviously as the age groups move through we get a different crew.
“It’s an education for both teams and it works out really well.”
“This year’s been a pretty good year with our crew, our parents and carers have really got involved. The feedback for Wednesday night was good.”
The Rockets junior season draws to a conclusion next Wednesday, with their final training session and presentation night bringing the curtain down on the 2023 season.
