Echuca’s Brodie Kemp is staying at Carlton.
The out-of-contract defender’s recent form has been justifiably rewarded with a two-year extension at Ikon Park, keeping the 22-year-old with the Blues until the end of 2025.
Kemp has played eight games for Carlton this season, solidifying his spot in the back six after an impressive run of form, including the team’s recent three-game winning streak.
“Brodie has showcased his damaging speed and agility this season, offering support to the team with his defensive pressure and eagerness to help his teammates,” Carlton head of list management Nick Austin said.
“Brodie’s positive mindset and strong willpower are a testament to his character, and we believe that has set him up for an exciting career in the navy blue.
“In the middle of his best season yet, it has been great to see Brodie get some consistent games under his belt, with his form improving each week.”
Drafted in 2019, Kemp had been limited to just six games in three seasons prior to the 2023 campaign due to a string of injuries. However, since returning to the senior side, Kemp has been averaging 16 disposals and will be a key figure in Carlton’s push for the AFL finals.
The Blues currently sit one game outside the top eight in 11th place. They will host second-place Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium this Saturday at 4.45pm.
