It is an environmental watering initiative that works to find a solution to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan issues, while rejuvenating thousands of kilometres of riparian systems and wetlands throughout the region.
This project is designed to utilise existing channel networks to divert water away from the Murray River through rivers, creeks and wetlands.
The end goal is to achieve targeted environmental outcomes, helping to solve the Barmah-Millewa Reach challenge, securing supply to downstream users and to assist in reducing the risk of water buybacks in the area.
