Music students get expert guidance

Rock on: Milla Dennis, Kane Sherriff and Renata Kincaid at Moama Anglican Grammar.

What do you do when you want to learn a particular song but you can't find the sheet music?

Moama Anglican Grammar Year 9 students Milla Dennis and Renata Kincaid faced this dilemma recently when they chose to learn the song Charlotte by Geelong-based band, The Kite Machine, for an upcoming assessment.

The school decided to write to the band to ask for help and they kindly created some useful video tutorials for both guitar and drum parts of the song.

Showing the way: Renata Kincaid and Kane Sherriff.

Even better than that, drummer Kane Sherriff was heading to Echuca for the Winter Blues and stopped by to personally meet the students and teach the drum part to Renata.

It was an awesome experience.

A sincere thank-you to Kane and the band from the students and the school for taking such a personal approach to music education.
