Monday’s social bowls saw 18 bowlers take part with the winners being Craig Beck, Chris Lynch and Steve (Knockers) Nolan (51 points) from Neil Dovaston, Doug Goldsworthy and Bruce Haines.
Ladies breakfast fours were held last week with 72 bowlers (18 teams) in attendance.
Winners were the Elmore team of Ann Williams, Lorna Wilson, Evelyn Locke and Ina Heywood from the Tongala team of Ros Kellett, Joy Makepeace, Elaine Hosking and Ellie Vandeburgt.
A total of 44 bowlers attended Thursday’s Men’s Jackpot Pairs in fairly warm conditions.
There were five teams to win both games. The overall result saw Col and Evan Berryman take home the meat trays with (+26) from runners-up Phil Denham and Peter Lomas ( 12).
Welcome back guys.
Best one game winners were Ivan Hicks and Trevor Liddell (18).
Probably the least said about both midweek and weekend pennant the better as only division three was successful.
In midweek the stronger team, White, went down on all rinks to Moama Red, losing overall by 40 shots.
Blue travelled to Tongala and shared one rink and lost the other two.
Gayle Kerr (s), Heather Trotter, Marg Hoelter and Jill Young salvaged an 18-all draw but the team went down by 11 shots.
In weekend pennant, division one travelled to Rich River and suffered a one shot loss.
The only winning rink went to Matt Liverton (s), Ian Whiting, Trevor Liddell and Matt Brighton with seven.
They led 21-8 after 13 ends but lost six ends in a row to be four shots up before winning the final two ends.
Division two hosted Rich River and went down by 12 shots, winning only one rink of Norm Hodge (s), John Brown, Bill Toll and Evan Berryman (9).
Division three travelled to Rochester to take on Rochy Green and scored a mammoth win by 43 shots.
The threes struggled early in the season but seem to be putting it all together at the right time.
Best winning rink went to Di Payne (s), Bill Cook, Don Hicks and Bob Pratt with 23, winning 15 of the 21 ends.
In division four our top team travelled to Lockington and came home with their tails between their legs, going down by three shots and with only one rink in front, that being John Blair (s), Dick North, Callum O’Shea and Kevin Bursill (3).
In club events the Ladies Pairs are almost to the semi-finals stage with a quarter-final to be held between Gayle Kerr/June Clifford v Rhonda Gallagher/Lee Beattie.
The winners meet Pat Schram/ Michelle Cunnington in one semi and Leica Roney/ Kerryn Evans v Belinda Chong/Anna Meyer in the other.
Members are requested to move all events along as they must be completed by February 22.

There has been action aplenty on the greens this past week.

At the Tuesday social bowls the women played triples with a good roll-up.
The winning trio included Mary Thomas, Lois Chugg and Phyllis MacFarlane (s) in a combined effort.
On Tuesday the club held the first of a three-week series of barefoot bowls.
This event attracted 42 players with some hidden talent emerging from the night.
The winning team comprised John van den Bosch, Marcus DiAngri, Graeme Wood (s) two wins plus 12 shots on a countback from Phillip Cunnington, Richard Lyons, Warren Jones (s) 12 shots.
Other two game winners were Jeff Carnie (s), Tom Scurrah and John Alexander (the great) 11; Bill Musgrove (s) Lincoln and Tyson Brothers 10 along with Leon Laffy, Terry Malone, John "Lefty" Wright (s) 5.
A tremendous night and thanks to Bev Brereton and Joy Weller for organising the cards along with Russell Shawcross and Brian Kinnane for manning the barbecue - a delight to eat.
Teams travelled to Elmore for the weekly 60 and Over competition.
Three local teams won all three games to make the Roll to the Yardstick.
Graham Turner, Kevin Humbert, Ian Johnson and Andy Harris finished with five in the area to be runners-up to the Tongala rink with six in the yardstick.
The women returned to the intra-club pennant on Friday with some near perfect bowling on display.
The results were Waratah (Annette Brereton (s)) d. Banksia (Pauline Humbert (s)) 19-17 in a tight contest.
The other game was a clear-cut victory for Bottle Brush (Phyllis MacFarlane skipper) d. Grevillea (Lois Chugg skipper) 22-12.
The ladder positions have Waratah 20 points, 11 shots ahead of Bottle Brush 12, 6 followed by Grevillia 12, 5 and Banksia 12, -19.
Two rounds remaining before the final play-off.
In the latest round of CVBD Weekend Pennant we had both division three and four record victories.
Division three accounted for the visiting Elmore combination for the early 9am start to beat the heat.
All rinks were up to score a 59-41 win. (Ian Johnson d. K Brooks 20-14; Ray Hanson d. W Goodear 22-11; Russell Shawcross d. C Williams 17-16).
In the division four match against City of Echuca, the result was in doubt right up until the final bowl.
With two rinks finished and scores level, the Ken Main-John Simpson game resulted in a real heart-stopper.
Main was fortunate to pick up two shots on the second last end to lead 19-17.
On the final end there were at least eight bowls within the yardstick and there was some doubt as to which team held the shot.
When the final bowl was delivered it was revealed that Lockington held the one shot to win the game 20-17 and the overall result was a closely fought 58-55 win (Ken Main d. J Simpson 20-17; Frank Chugg d. G Kerr 21-18; Kalvin Stout lost to J Blair 17-20).
Division three is holding down third position on the CVBD Pennant ladder while division four is in fourth position with only three rounds remaining.
In the CVBD Midweek Pennant, the results were Tongala d. City of Echuca Blue 58-47; Mathoura Blue d. Ky Valley View 79-39; Moama Green d. Elmore 77-58; Moama Red d. City of Echuca White 79-39; Mathoura Red d. Rich River 65-47.
