The band is performing on Friday at the Juke Joint Barbecue and live music event from 6pm-10pm.
The electric band is an original take on the Delta Blues. Lead singer Milan Milutinovic’s striking baritone vocals evoke the spirit of a great poet. His guitar playing is a simple, primitive and hypnotic boogie which sounds as though it was developed at the dawn of time. Adding Darren Seknow of the drums and backing vocals, The New Savages have found success in the music scene for their raspy, confident and blues sound.
‘‘We’re excited for our Nanneella show as we love playing halls in rural areas,’’ Milutinovic said.
‘‘It’s always an intimate and special vibe in these areas.’’
After having performed at the Echuca Winter Blues festival back to back over the past few years, they’ll be coming to Nanneella Hall for the first time as part of a 25 date national tour which sees them connecting with Australia’s more remote and rural communities.
The band has been on tour almost non-stop for the past four years and have played destinations around the nation and the world.
Over the past few weeks The New Savages have been recording their debut album Seventh Son which will be released in the coming months. This Friday they’ll not only be performing the music they’ve become well-known for, but also some brand new material for their Nanneella audience.
The barbecue fires up at 6pm and The New Savages take to the stage from 8pm.
Alcohol will be available.
Tickets are $15 plus a booking fee online at humanitix.com.au/new-savages-nanneella-hall or $20 at the door.
