The four-year-old mare broke its maiden in the Moama Bowling Club Maiden Plate race five over 1400m at Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup Day at Echuca action, with jockey Laura Rafferty guiding Taraksh to a length win over Bill Boulder and Cryostat.

It backs up a second at Echuca back in October and a second career win for Davies.
In race one, David Noonan’s Lottaroc was a winner in the Two Tarts Catering Handicap Highweight over 1600m, while Michael Newton’s Kia Hohe placed fourth.

Dane Smith’s Irish horse San Remo took out the highly-anticipated Road to Jericho 3200m race 3, pipping Botti and Jericho Cup qualified Bold Jakkal to take out the 70-rated staying race.
Lucky Prize proved just that for trainers John and Chris Ledger to win by more than three lengths in the Think Water Echuca Maiden Plate as rain and thunderstorms replaced the sunshine and warm weather. Jockey Fred Kersley guided the four-year-old to victory over Game as Ned and Tookey Pete.

Race four, The Border Inn Maiden Plate over 1200m, tossed a thriller with Ben Brisbourne’s Lottwon pipping Gwenda Johnstone’s Mutsuhito by less than a length.
A Magic Gust and Zartamay rounded out the placings.
At the time of writing, two races remained on the card with more to come in next edition of the Riverine Herald.
