The Bulldogs will enter Saturday's Kyabram District League season-decider against Lancaster as strong favourites after breezing through the home and away season undefeated.
And as the premiership dream drew closer, Merrigum's performances continued to improve culminating with a 35-goal win over the Wombats in the second semi-final.
"There was always going to pressure, no matter where we finished on the ladder," Gordon said.
"Blynda (Tranter, Gordon's co-coach) and I have been really pleased with the way the girls have handled themselves in the past few weeks.
"I would say they are handling it better than some adults would. They're a great group of girls to work with and it has been a pleasure to coach them.
"Finishing the season with a premiership would be a perfect ending."
Although Gordon said her players would be full of confidence following their win two weeks ago, she warned them not to play the game before it had been played.
"Grand finals are a completely different ball game from every other game we've played this year," she said.
"But I'm confident the game plan we have in place will be enough for us to get the win.
"The biggest challenge will be trying to overcome the early nerves everyone will have. If we can limit our mistakes early I think it will go a long way to winning the game."
