Former Victorian and Australian representative player Edwin Cotter dropped into the association and had a hit with members, filling in for some singles and doubles matches.
Cotter had success as a teenager and in his early 20s, cracking the top 10 for under-21 males in Victoria while an under-16 player.
He represented Victoria at the national championships in 2006 and 2010.
Cotter is temporarily staying in Echuca while working in the region and was complimentary to the table tennis scene in Echuca-Moama.
“I was really surprised that there’s such a large club down here with so many players,” he said.
“Decent level, too, so I broke a sweat and had lots of fun.”
The Echuca Table Tennis Association meets at the Moama Sporting Complex on Wednesday nights from 6.30pm. New players are welcome.
