Ten games were played on the day at Echuca South Recreation Reserve, with the Rockets taking part in four contests.
“The day was a huge success,” said Rockets coach Graeme Glanville.
“Perfect weather for it naturally and that makes all the difference.
“There was a big crowd and unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to snag a win for the day but it's all about the participation, not really whether you win or lose on the day.”
In the FIDA teams play quickfire, 30-minute contests, with a brief half-time interval.
In the first game of the day the Rockets took on the GV Stars, falling 1.2 (8) to 3.4 (22).
They next faced Merriwa Magpies, and an improved scoring performance saw the home side put up 5.2 (32), but it narrowly went down in the match to Merriwa’s 6.1 (37)
The final two matches for the Rockets saw them come within moments of securing a win, losing by a single point to both the Wodonga Bulldogs, 3.2 (20) to 3.3. (21), and Benalla, 3.1 (19) to 3.2 (20).

The Rockets team has been bolstered by an influx of players this year, with the squad one of the biggest the club has seen in a number of seasons.
“We’re really good this year,” Glanville said.
“We’ve got 27-28 players on the list at the moment, so that’s really good and makes it a bit of a struggle for the coach to make sure everyone gets a fair amount of time on the field but I’d prefer to have that than be trying to find players.”
T.R.Y. awards were given on the day to players who demonstrated good sportsmanship and respectful play, with the Rockets’ Oscar Brown among the award winners.
This was the third of six game days for the Rockets this year, the team having previously palyed in Wodonga and Benalla.
The next game day will take place on Sunday, June 23, at Central Park Recreation Reserve in Shepparton.
