South, a day after its seven-wicket loss to Kyabram Fire Brigade, aimed to make a statement on its home turf and started well after winning the toss and sending Cooma in to bat.
South’s skipper Shaun Haffenden ripped through opener Nathan Angelino before Cameron McMullan struck with the wicket of Liam Scopelliti.
Joel Stephens, back in the A-grade side for the weekend double-header, marked his return with the prized scalp of Two Blues captain Michael Hill, finishing with 2-37 from his nine overs.
Jacob Kelly and Sam Langley steadied the ship with a 51-run partnership before Langley fell LBW to Stephens.
Kelly fell soon after to Noah Densley with the score at 6-124, but another 50-run partnership between the in-form Brad Power (35) and A-grade debutant Darcy Backway helped drive the Two Blues’ score to 7-176.
As has been the case before during the 2021-22 season, Echuca South’s inexperienced batting line-up struggled to find fluency in its innings.
Sam Langley continued his fine form with the ball, getting Cooma off to the perfect start by dismissing South opener Ben Eade in the first over.
Fellow opener Clayton Watson followed Eade soon after, another victim of Langley, who now has 14 wickets for the season.
Grady Smith then fell to Mitch Barrett, before Cam McMullan departed LBW at the hands of Jack Norris.
Shaun Haffenden mounted an Echuca South fightback in the middle order with a toiling 15 before Norris claimed the prized scalp of the South skipper.
From there, it was all Cooper Fawcett.
Fawcett rock-and-rolled Echuca South’s middle and lower order with figures of 5-9 off his six-over spell, including three wickets in the 24th over.
Aaron Carver played a lone hand with 21 not-out, but Echuca South was dismissed for 75 and consigned to its sixth straight loss of the season.
Meanwhile, Cooma put its loss to Leitchville-Gunbower on Saturday behind it to stay in touch with the top four.
