Rochester residents again opened their hearts, and wallets, for the third annual Two Feet and a Heartbeat Walk on Sunday, October 17, — recognising the extraordinary work of the Heart Kids organisation.

Three Rochester Heart Kids were on hand to celebrate the event, conducted in brilliant early morning sunshine.

David Sibberas, Eliza Moon and River Powles, whose parents Carly and Troy had organised the event, were among the 100 participants.

COVID-19 event conditions made things a little awkward, but the groups set out at staggered times and distances to satisfy the regulators.

Bracelets, pens, stickers, balloons, caps and T-shirts made it a colourful event, sales of merchandise making it a great financial success, too.

However, Carly Powles said she had oversold her allocation of stubby holders and was forced to contact buyers to explain the situation.
Star of the show: River Powles was the inspiration for the Heart Kids fundraising, the first time Rochester had officially registered for the virtual walk.
