Jim Arthur has emerged victorious in the Kyabram Racing Pigeon Club’s furthest race yet on October 7.

The club travelled to Cobar for this week’s meet over 500km away and nearly 13-hour round trip.

Only five trainers participated in the Cobar race, with competition leader Phillip King notably absent after securing the double at Mount Hope.

Lancaster’s Jim Arthur won the event, with his birds reaching a velocity of 1135.389.

Echuca Village’s Rod Clark narrowly came in second, his flock reaching a velocity of 1120.394.

Kyabram’s Peter White rounded out the top three, cruising at a velocity of 976.417.

Arthur and White are now tied for third in the overall competition, tallying 166 points each, while Rod Clark sits just behind them on 159 points.

There isn’t another race scheduled for the season at this point.
