Road users are being encouraged to take extra care when out and about on Thursday, owing to Halloween.
Deniliquin Police Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said there will be more people driving around and on foot.
“This is increasingly an activity where people are out and about trick or treating in search of tasty treats, and hopefully not too many tricks,” he said.
“So there may be more people walking around the Deniliquin streets during the evening.
“Please keep this in mind as you are driving about the town to ensure road and pedestrian safety for everyone.
“Police also acknowledge the work of the Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group for organising the Halloween events in town.
“Police will be attending from 3pm to 5.30pm to ensure safe crossing of the streets as large groups will be trick or treating.”
