Echuca Regional Health officially launched its three-year strategic plan for 2024 to 2027 at an event on Thursday, November 7.

Beginning with a Welcome to Country from Aboriginal health liaison officer Merinda Slater, ERH chief executive Robyn Lindsay and board chairperson Stacy Williams introduced the plan.

The plan has been designed after broad community consultation to ensure ERH meets the needs of the community, committing to four pillars of strategic areas.

These pillars are their people, service, community and future, also looking to deliver the plan in alignment with the ERH values of collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence.

Ms Williams said ERH would report back annually on the progress of the strategy.

“Whilst we have a plan, we will remain agile and responsive to changes to ensure to benefit the community,” she said.

The plan has been developed in collaboration with the community, staff, service users and partnering organisations.

Communication was highlighted as a key area of value for the community, including seamless care pathways, friendly and kind service delivery and continued connections for future planning.

Ms Lindsay said that as the community grew, they wanted ERH to support its workforce as it too grew.

“Our workforce is also our community,” she said.

“They want ERH to be strong and caring leaders.

“This new strategic plan will support the health and wellness of our growing community now and into the future.”

She highlighted the responsibility ERH had to provide a high-quality and comfortable level of care for the region, as well as for its staff.

“We absolutely can’t do this without the community,” Ms Lindsay said.

“We’ll be constantly checking in and holding ourselves accountable for what we’ve committed to.

“We want to make sure that this is a really safe, calm and connected place to work, but also receive care now and into the future as the community continues to grow.”
