The event will see celebrity and community volunteers donating their time on Saturday, December 7 to wrap customers gifts for a gold coin donation.
All funds received through the event will be donated to children’s hospitals and research partners such as Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Big W Echuca store manager Stacee Thompson said the event was a fun way for Big W and its customers to give back.
“Through our long-standing hospital network partners, Big W makes a real difference for Australian families in the Goulburn Valley,” she said.
“The Big Wrapathon is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only will Goulburn Valley customers save time getting their gifts wrapped by local celebrities in a fun local community event, but their gold coin donation directly supports children and families in Victoria.”
In addition to the Wrapathon, the event will also promote Big W’s new charity wrapping paper.
The gift wrap features artworks by children who are supported by Big W’s national hospital network.
The children also designed $2 fundraising tokens, which will be sold in stores until Tuesday, December 24.
All proceeds received from sales of the gift wraps and tokens will also be donated to the children’s hospitals.
On top of its fundraising efforts, Big W will also be contributing an additional $20,000 to the Murdoch Research Institute supporting programs that bring care and joy to sick kids and their families.
